The historic Al Alamein Hotel in Marassi, Egypt, is getting a new look. Dubai-based developer Emaar Hospitality Group has started work on renovations with plans to reopen the property later this year under its upscale lifestyle flag, Vida Hotels and Resorts. Information regarding the design firm that’s spearheading the update was not immediately available.
Showcasing 189 rooms including luxury chalets, the redesigned Al Alamein Hotel will feature outdoor seating overlooking the Sidi Abdel Rahman Bay, a beach outlet, rooftop lounge, fitness center, swimming pool, tennis court and spa.
“It’s an exceptional honor for us to undertake the modern reinterpretation of the Alamein resort,” says
Olivier Harnisch, ceo of Emaar Hospitality Group, which also owns and operates the luxury Address Hotels + Resorts and midscale Rove Hotels brands, as well as the ultra-luxury Emaar Hotels and Resorts portfolio. “The people of Egypt have fond memories of the resort, and we’re committed to restoring it to its true glory.”
Al Alamein Hotel is the fourth hotel project by the company in Egypt. The others, also located in Marassi, are Address Marassi Beach Resort, Address Marassi Golf Resort + Spa and the 120-key Vida Marassi Marina.
