Dream Hotel Group is expanding to the U.K. with plans to debut its recently launched lifestyle brand, Unscripted Hotels, in England in 2020. The 135-key Unscripted Birmingham Central Hall will be home to five F&B venues, including a rooftop lounge and two street-level restaurants.
The boutique hotel is planned as part of London-based developer Ciel Capital’s restoration of the former Methodist Central Hall. Originally designed by architects Ewan Harper and James Harper, the three-story, Edwardian building opened in 1905 and showcases a red brick and terracotta facade.
“Driven by hyperlocal food and beverage, innovative design and a culture of friendly service, Unscripted gives adventurous travelers what they want in a lifestyle brand—an authentic experience that delight the senses and enhances their lifestyle,” says Dream Hotel Group ceo Jay Stein, who was named one of Boutique Design’s Up-and-Coming Hoteliers in 2016. “Birmingham is one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse cities in the U.K., and therefore an ideal destination for the Unscripted flag.”
The Unscripted brand debuted its first location in Durham, North Carolina, in July and plans to open another five hotels worldwide by 2020.
