The Delta Hotels by Marriott Dallas Allen and Watters Creek Convention Center are now open, completing the $91 million project that took over three years to build.
Designed by MatchLine Design Group, the hotel is the first of its kind in the U.S. for this Canadian-based Delta brand. The 300-room property is also the first 4-star, full-service hotel and convention center in Allen, and one of the largest facilities of its type in North Texas. The project was completed via a public-private partnership between the City of Allen, the Allen Economic Development Corp. and the Allen Community Development Corp.
The Watters Creek Convention Center is attached to the hotel and offers more than 90,000 sq. ft. of meeting and event space, including the 40,000-sq.-ft. Terrell Hall that has 32-ft. ceilings. The hall is named in honor of Mayor Terrell. The development’s restaurant and bar is owned by Dallas chef Stephan Pyles, who moved his Stampede 66 from uptown to the new Allen location. The Allen Convention and Visitors Bureau will move into new office space on the first floor of the Delta hotel in February.
