Tavistock Development Co. has hired a design team to refresh its Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Daroff Design Inc. + DDI Architects PC (DDI) is spearheading the hotel’s interior design and will act as the historic hotel tower’s architect, while HKS Architects Inc. is creating the main hotel building’s architecture. Garcia Stromberg, GS4 Studios and Phil Kean Design Group have been tapped as residential architects. EDSA has also joined the team as landscape architect.
Other project participants include civil engineer Flynn Engineering and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer EXP US Services Inc. DC Engineers Inc. will handle transportation planning and Moss & Associates will lead pre-construction.
Initial site plans focus on restoring and enhancing the existing 384-key Pier Sixty-Six Hotel property, including the historic Pier Tower, which sustained significant damage from Hurricane Irma last fall. The development team is still working on design plans for the first phase of development and the project is expected to take several years to complete.
