The 360-room, 10-floor Conrad Washington D.C., with architecture designed by Herzog & de Meuron and developed by Hines and investor Qatari Diar, is located on New York Avenue at the gateway of the high-end, mixed-use CityCenterDC. Rottet Studio designed the interiors as a minimalist expression to complement the building.
The project features 30,000 sq. ft. of luxury retail space on its ground floor and 32,000 sq. ft. of purpose-built meeting space, all above ground level. The property’s signature restaurant, Estuary, showcases a menu helmed by James Beard Award recipients and “Top Chef” finalists Bryan and Michael Voltaggio. Sakura Club sits on the 10th floor and offers a made-to-order menu throughout the day, a Japanese whisky collection and a traditional afternoon tea.
The hotel was developed in coordination with the District of Columbia, which continues to own the land associated with the project’s hotel and retail uses. D.C.-based real estate companies Bundy Development Corporation, The Jarvis Company, The Neighborhood Development Company, and Triden Development Group also are members of the development team and developer ownership.
