Netherlands-based hotelier citizenM has unveiled plans for a location in Washington, D.C. Designed by FXFOWLE Architects of New York with interiors by Amsterdam-based concrete (which has worked on several previous hotels for the design-forward brand), the project aims to achieve LEED Gold certification.
The mixed-use complex will feature two towers, one housing a 252-key hotel and the other 194 apartments. The project, at 555 E Street SW, is being developed by E Street Development Group LLC, CityPartners and Potomas Investment Properties.
With 12 hotels currently open across Europe, citizenM’s U.S. plans also include locations in New York, Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle.
