Optimum Development USA is transforming three original art deco buildings on Ocean Drive in Miami into a new 132-key luxury boutique complex, Celino South Beach. The $110 million project will include a renovation of the historic Park Central Hotel as well as the addition of a new five-story atrium building.
A collaboration between design architects Highgate, ICONINK and Space4Architecture, executive architect Borges + Associates Architects and interior designers at Navigate Design, Celino South Beach is set to be largest hospitality development in the history of Ocean Drive, project participants say. The property is slated to open in early 2019.
Plans for the development include a rooftop sun deck with a glass-bottom pool that reflects aquatic light images onto the interior walls of the atrium building, as well as a courtyard pool. The hotel’s library will overlook the Atlantic, and a 24-hour fitness room will be designed to target wellness-minded travelers. Dining outlets led by INK Entertainment include Italian and Mediterranean seafood-centric restaurants as well as an indoor/outdoor bar.
