Boutique Design Events and Trade Fairs

Casetta Group, an emerging brand and hospitality management company for boutique hotels, announces the acquisition of three Southern California properties: The Pearl Hotel in San Diego, Casa Cody in Palm Springs and Marina Resort in Big Bear. Seeking buildings with a story, Casetta revitalizes small hotels and motels through elevated design, guest services, F&B offerings and restoration anchored by a sense of place and local community.

In partnership with LA-based architectural design studio Electric Bowery, Casetta will bring a new perspective to each hotel with property-wide renovations and new F&B concepts set to debut in 2020. Following the unveiling of its first three projects, Casetta aims to expand its 94-key portfolio by two hotels per year.

Built in the 1960s, The Pearl Hotel features mid-century architecture and 23 rooms encircling an oyster-shaped pool. Casetta is working with design studio Electric Bowery and consulting F&B partner San Julian Hospitality to restore the hotel and its restaurant Charles + Dinorah, a market-driven restaurant named after the original husband-wife owners of The Pearl Hotel. Renovation is anticipated for completion winter 2020.

Founded in the 1920s by Hollywood pioneer Harriet Cody, the 30-room property is nestled against the San Jacinto Mountains in Palm Springs’ Historic Tennis Club Neighborhood, adjacent to the newly revitalized downtown. The property-wide restoration—projected to wrap spring 2020—will celebrate its historic roots by updating the property into a modern-day retreat while maintaining the eclectic charm of each room, cottage and the original Adobe House.

Opened in 1969, Marina Resort is the only waterfront hotel on Big Bear Lake. Electric Bowery is overseeing the renovation, including upgrades to the lobby, guestrooms, and pool and spa, as well as a new, yet-to-be-named lakefront restaurant in partnership with San Julian Hospitality, proprietors of Rossoblu. Slated to launch spring 2020, the property will reclaim its original name, Marina Riviera, and feature a cabin aesthetic with rich woods, warm, modern décor and a lakefront deck.

Prior to founding Casetta in 2019 alongside Montecito Venture Partners, Carolyn Schneider, president and partner of Casetta Group, was the director of guest experience for The NoMad Los Angeles. Her experience also includes sales and marketing positions with Ace Hotel Group and Proper Hospitality.
