Boutique Design Events and Trade Fairs

The Mount Royal Hotel has a new look. The boutique’s revamped design concept draws together layers of property’s historical elements in a modern way by blending the property’s 100-year-old heritage, according to multidisciplinary design firm DIALOG.

The 133-room hotel, which was shuttered in December 2016 following a fire, features a rooftop lounge with outdoor hot tubs, a custom-designed museum and a hotel library, providing unique spaces for guests and locals to connect and relax. Custom headboards from Toronto’s Moss & Lam art studio serve as the centerpiece in each guestroom. Guestrooms showcase mountain views of the Banff, Alberta, landscape.

Additionally, Vancouver-based consultancy firm Farmboy Fine Arts complemented the design with more than 200 curated pieces that reflect contemporary and modern genres alongside reimagined historic works from Banff’s Whyte Museum.

“The reopening of the Mount Royal Hotel will provide a truly unforgettable Banff experience for today’s modern traveler, bringing together a thoughtful juxtaposition of rich history and contemporary design,” says Dave McKenna, president of Banff Jasper Collection by Pursuit, a chain of lodges, attractions and travel offerings in the Canadian Rockies, Alaska, Montana, Vancouver, British Columbia and Reykjavik, Iceland (to launch in 2019). “We look forward to welcoming both the local community and our global guests back to such an incredible Banff landmark and are delighted to reintroduce the Mount Royal Hotel into Pursuit’s collection.”
