Cachet Hospitality Group (CHG) has signed a management deal to convert a property on Thailand’s largest island into a lifestyle resort. Owned by R&B Partners Co. Ltd., the 128-key property will begin flying the Cachet flag later this month. CHG’s in-house design team, Cachet Interior Design (CID), plans to revamp the destination’s hotel on Nai Yang Beach, with that work slated for completion in November.
The property formerly operated as the Dewa Phuket Resort & Spa, according to published reports. It marks CHG’s second-ever resort, as well as its expansion in Southeast Asia, coming on the heels of the recently announced SAVANT Vela Hotel-Bangkok.
“With 59 flights from Bangkok per day, Phuket is an extremely accessible and appealing vacation destination,” says Kimy Chen, president of Southeast Asia, CHG. “Travelers to the island are ready to experience our acclaimed designs, enticing F&B programs and innovative amenities.”
Those on-site facilities will include two dining venues, the Aleta Restaurant Bar and Grill and the Stonehaus wine bar, as well as 10,760-plus-sq.-ft. of meeting/event space, a spa, a fitness center, a yoga-focused wellness center, a Kids Club and two pools. A Cachet Pool Club showcasing international DJs and local artists will also be on tap.
Redesigned by CID, Cachet Resort Dewa Phuket’s standard rooms, villas and residential suites will feature polished concrete floors, deep mahogany, black marble, coconut shell finishes and exposed ceilings. Contemporary touches will be balanced with traditional Thai blue silk fabrics on the pillows, chairs and beds, as well as authentic Thai sculptures and artwork.
“As the Phuket market grows increasingly sophisticated, our prime location is more coveted than ever,” says Swedish entrepreneur Lars Ydmark, managing director of Phuket-based R&B Partners Co., Ltd. “With our transformation into Cachet Resort Dewa Phuket and the introduction of Cachet’s exciting F&B and social programs, we are poised to set a new standard for what is Nai Yang Beach, Phuket.”
CHG’s portfolio consists of properties across China, Thailand, Mexico and the U.S. The company, which was recently named one of Boutique Design’s Up-and-Coming Hoteliers for 2017, has several projects under development, with an emphasis on ramping up its presence in Greater China, Southeast Asia and the Americas.
