Long time hotel owners Burges and Freny Jokhi will open The Burgess Hotel in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood this fall. The boutique hotel will feature eclectic design motifs that are reflective of the family’s history and foreign travels.
Designed by ceo and design principal Kimberly Miller of Duncan Miller Ullman, the hotel will feature 102 guestrooms marrying personal and cultural elements with contemporary style. The residential style rooms will incorporate wood flooring, contemporary clean lines, bold textures, and custom artwork. DMU also curated the open concept lobby, restaurant, bar, meeting space and fitness center which all maintain a similar ambiance. Tributes to family travels will be seen in the design accents, textures, sculptures, and a light installation. The hotel will also showcase custom artwork designed by Jessica Jokhi, a Chicago based artist, and the daughter of Burges and Freny. DMU is known for projects such as Hotel Za Za (Texas), The Pearl (Rosemary Beach, Florida), and Marcus Samuelsson’s The Red Rooster (London).
Apicii Hospitality Group will curate the food and beverage concepts, FIA, Woodfire Grill and Mr. B. Bar. Apicii is known for restaurants such as Casa Apicii, and Bowery Road (New York City) as well as Breva Restaurant and Hotel Figeroa’s Veranda (L.A.).
