Virginia’s Bristol Hotel, designed by Earl Swensson Associates and managed by Charlestowne Hotels, is the result of an adaptive-reuse project at the original site of the city’s 1925 Executive Plaza building. McCall Capital is the developer for the historic preservation of the 65-room hotel.
The hotel’s design preserves original architectural elements such as exposed brick and hand-pressed lettering. The former elevator pulley system is repurposed as a decorative focal point in the lobby. The 1920s arcade has been transformed into an entryway as part of the property’s 3,000-sq.-ft. meeting space offering.
The property will also be home to the city’s first rooftop bar, Lumac. A street-level restaurant, Vivian’s Table, will serve family-style, Southern Appalachian cuisine.
