The Canopy by Hilton Philadelphia Center City is the brand’s first in Pennsylvania.
Set within the Stephen Girard Building, built in 1896, project architect BLT Architects collaborated with international design firm AvroKO, which handled the interiors. Inspired by the Classical and Beaux-Arts elements of the structure, as well as the surrounding neighborhood, the design team developed comfortable, yet trendy spaces with a focus on materiality.
Bold colors, patterns, and decor reference the 1980s Philadelphia hip-hop scene and fashion movement in an art program by Toronto’s Tatar Art Project, while local culture is included through welcome gifts from local businesses and tastings with food and cocktails from the neighborhood.
