Dayna Lee and Ted Berner of Powerstrip Studios led the design for the newly opened Baker’s Cay Resort Key Largo, a Curio Collection by Hilton property in the Florida Keys. The 200-room resort is located on a former pineapple plantation owned by the hotel’s namesake, Captain Ben Baker.
The resort pays homage to the notion that pineapples serve as a symbol of hospitality and elegance, while the designers drew inspiration from the surrounding area in the aesthetic. Baker’s Cay Resort features integrations of bold modern teak furnishings, flirty patterns woven through textile and bespoke lighting.
The resort is also home to Calusa, an indoor/outdoor Caribbean-Creole restaurant. Dry Rocks, complete with live music, fire pits and certified tequila connoisseurs, offers another dining option. The Pool Bar and food truck round out the eateries.
