The andBeyond Tengile River Lodge offers an eco-friendly, luxury experience in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, situated in an endangered riparian woodland.
Anatomy Design spearheaded the look of the public spaces and accommodations. Sustainability was top of mind during the design process. Although the guestrooms and public spaces are large, the ecological footprint has been kept to a minimum. The water treatment systems allow all waste water to be recycled for irrigation.
Many of the materials used in the construction of the property were locally sourced. The floors have stones from the nearby Selati railway embedded in the concrete, creating a custom arrangement of colors and patterns. Roofs are covered in sand from the site. Almost all interior pieces have been specially made and designed in collaboration with a South African designer.
