Hyatt Hotels Corp.’s Andaz brand has debuted a new, mission-driven suite designed by Jonathan Adler at its West Hollywood hotel in California. Dubbed the (ANDAZ)RED Suite, the project marks the flag’s first collaboration with (RED), an organization founded by singer-songwriter Bono and attorney/journalist Bobby Shriver to raise funds and awareness in an effort to eliminate AIDS and HIV in Africa.

“I’ve worked with (RED) for years–what they do is incredible,” says Adler. “And hotels are my favorite spaces to design, so when I got the chance to combine the two, my chakras began to tingle. Working with the Andaz team has been a dream. They understand that design doesn’t have to just look good; it can also do good.”

The suite features Adler’s rock ‘n’ roll-meets-chic glamour aesthetic, as well as a custom mural crafted by artist and (RED) collaborator Kelsey Montague. With every booking, 30 percent of the room rate will go to support (RED)’s fight against AIDS. A rotating selection of in-room (PRODUCT)RED items—ranging from amenities such as corkscrews and champagne to keepsakes including notebooks and candles—will also be available for purchase, providing additional donations to (RED).

“We’ve been looking for an opportunity to work with (RED) for some time as it’s an organization that aligns with our purpose of care,” says Maryam Banikarim, global chief marketing officer for Hyatt. “Given the history of Andaz West Hollywood, starting our collaboration here made a lot of sense. Back in the day, this hotel was nicknamed the Riot House because rockers stayed and partied here. The property’s rock legacy and the fact that the Andaz brand is all about creativity and local inspiration made it a perfect fit for (RED).”

Sports and youth culture fashion brand, Vans, has also produced exclusive footwear designed in partnership with Adler and Montague to mark the occasion. Those limited addition shoes are available at the Vans pop-up store, which will be housed in the Andaz West Hollywood lobby through the weekend of March 11-12.
