Regency Debuts in Bangkok
PIA designs interiors at 273-room hotel
Hyatt Regency has officially made its debut in Thailand's capital. Part of a 31-story, mixed-use development designed by Bangkok-based architecture firm OBA, the 273-room hotel was conceived as a modern Thai house by local interior design practice PIA.
Interiors recall the golden periods of Thai history through contemporary aesthetics, furniture and rugs. Local artist Ajarn Nontiwat Jantanapalin was commissioned to craft sculptures for the property.
Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit is home to three food and beverage outlets--including Market Café, a 24-hour eatery and Spectrum Lounge & Bar--as well as 14,628 sq. ft. of meeting and space. Recreational facilities are located on the hotel's sixth floor and comprise an outdoor freeform swimming pool and whirlpool, a pool bar and a 24-hour fitness center. The complex includes condos and upscale retail shop in addition to the new hotel.
