Nouveau restaurant, Hotel BPM open
The hospitality scene continues to heat up in Brooklyn, with the opening of the 76-key Hotel BPM in the Sunset Park neighborhood and the 6,000-sq.-ft. Nouveau restaurant in Bay Ridge.
Designed by Nina Ferrer, Nouveau is a two-floor eatery that features pearlescent walls, cream tabletops, glass doors and a black concrete floor with polished resin and hand-laid sparking sand. In addition, a multi-tiered chandelier made from recycled lights cascades from the top to bottom floor. The space is also home to photorealist paintings by Patrick McGregormural and a mural by Brooklyn artist Tara Amelchen.
The 76-key boutique hotel, created by DJ BIJAL, is named for the music term “beats per minute,” referring to the pace count of a song. A soundtrack by the syndicated radio host streams throughout the locale’s public spaces and guest rooms.
