Expands in North America, Asia Pacific

Tarkett Group, a commercial flooring manufacturer, has acquired Dalton, Ga.-based Tandus Flooring for an undisclosed amount. The company will operate as a separate entity within Tarkett’s North American division, under the direction of Tandus president Glen Hussmann. The transaction is expected to close Sept. 28.

“This strategic move will extend our activities in the commercial carpet market in North America while further developing our footprint in the fast growing Asian markets,” says Michel Giannuzzi, Tarkett Group ceo.

Tandus has five production sites in the U.S. and Canada, and one site in China to serve the Asian markets. Its product line includes hybrid resilient, modular carpet, and higher-end broadloom and woven products.
