Revamps four of its signature fixtures
Studio Italia Design, a high-end manufacturer of supremely modern lighting, is taking another step towards the future, revamping four of its signature fixtures; these lamps now call for compact, energy-efficient fluorescent bulbs. Not only are CFLS (compact fluorescent lamps) 75 percent more efficient than incandescents, they also last for several years.
Energy Star explains that if every American home replaced just one regular (incandescent) bulb with a standard CFL, the nation could save a incredible amount of money and energy─more than three million homes could be lit, $600 million dollars would be saved, and the earth could be prevented from enduring the equivalent of gas emissions from 800,000 cars.
Studio Italia Design’s four eco-friendly lamps include Tris, a chrome frame in assorted colors with white, hand-blown glass, while the wall mounted or suspended Kapp fixture has the look of a bursting star, carefully crafted by artisans. The bell-shaped Clessidra in pendant, wall sconce, table lamp and floor lamp configurations is available in red, green, blue, yellow, orange, and amethyst and the striped, suspended Bellissima combines milk-white glass and convex satin glass diffusers in amber or red glass.
