Hotel slated for Great Scotland Yard
Morgans Hotel Group said its new London hotel will open in 2015 at Great Scotland Yard in St. James’s in 2015. Morgans first unveiled plans for the hotel in June, but did not release specifics on its site at that time.
The 234-key Hudson hotel will be housed in a 102-year-old Edwardian building that was originally home to Britain’s Ministry of Defense before being converted to a library in the 1980s. Its amenities will include a new ground floor restaurant, a 40-seat library lounge and flexible boardroom space.
“We could not envision a better partner to collaborate with and are already exploring future opportunities with Morgans Hotel Group's development team,” says Raman Thukral, director of hotel owner Sansar Investments Ltd.
Morgans also operates the Sanderson and St. Martins Lane properties in London, and plans to open the Mondrian London at Sea Containers House in early 2014.
