Michelle Finn Joins ST Media Group

Will oversee company’s hospitality brands

ST Media Group International Inc. has hired Michelle Finn as senior vice president of its hospitality brands: Hospitality Style, Boutique Design, the Boutique Design New York (BDNY) trade fair and other ancillary products. In this role, Finn will oversee the development and management of the business with a focus on global expansion, continued editorial excellence and other industry growth initiatives.

Finn will report to Tedd Swormstedt, president of ST Media Group International Inc., who observed that, “Michelle has a tremendous track record for developing brands within the hospitality and related industries; she keenly understands this fast-changing design market and is responsive to the needs and demands of its customers. We are excited about leveraging Michelle’s industry knowledge, relationships and depth of experience to further grow our brands. She has a creative and customer-centric approach to business development, and I am excited to have her as part of my team as we create our plans for the future.”

Michael Schneider, publisher of Hospitality Style and Boutique Design and founder of BDNY, and Kristin Zeit, design group editorial director, will continue in their respective roles, reporting directly to Finn. “From my perspective, Michael has done an outstanding job with BD and the launch of BDNY, and this year’s event truly exceeded customer and attendee expectations with its innovative adaptation of the trade show experience,” Finn noted. “Kristin led the launch of Hospitality Style and the integration of Boutique Design into ST Media Group. I look forward to working with them and our respective editors to build upon their success.”

Finn founded Finn Media Group LLC (FMG) in October 2011, which has two planned event launches for 2012. These events will now be executed in cooperation with ST Media Group.

Prior to establishing FMG LLC, Finn worked for 25-plus years for Hospitality Design Group, Nielsen Exposition as vice president of market development and the Hospitality Design Group. In these roles, she oversaw the development and management of the HD brand, which included Hospitality Design, HD Expo, HD Boutique, HD Summit, HD CitySCENE and other ancillary products, as well as business development. Finn founded HD Boutique and HD Summit, and under her leadership, the HD brand grew from $0.5 million to $28 million in revenue.

ST Media Group International serves the visual communications industries with its trade publications, branded websites, custom book division and industry events. Media brands include Hospitality Style, Boutique Design, VMSD (Visual Merchandising and Store Design), Package Design, Screen Printing, Signs of the Times, The Big Picture, Industrial + Specialty Printing, and Signs of the Times & Screen Printing en Espanol.
