The 64-key Lord Balfour boutique hotel is undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation that will be completed this winter. The updated interiors will pay homage to the hotel’s namesake, a prime minister of England who was irreverent to British tradition and known to be very vain.

In the hotel’s vintage-style lobby and bar, witty design details will include a display of mirrors and soft textures. The updated guest rooms will feature natural bamboo hardwood floors, custom designed writing desks/chairs, leather lounge seating and oversized windows that overlook an interior courtyard.

The Lord Balfour originally opened its doors in 1940. The hotel, which is closed during the renovation, is located on Ocean Drive in Miami’s South Beach, and is managed by Desires Hotels, a collection of independently created boutique locales.
