22-key hotel planned for national park
The 22-key Inn at Presidio is slated to open in that urban national park in San Francisco in April. The Presidio is one of the oldest military posts in the country, and the new hotel will be located in Pershing Hall, which once served as the bachelor officers’ quarters.
Presidio Trust, the federal agency managing the park, chose Waterford Hotels and Inns to operate the hotel, which will pursue LEED Gold certification. The hotel will incorporate historic memorabilia, photographs, modern regional art and artifacts. Other amenities will include a front porch with rocking chairs, a landscaped terrace with a fire pit and a guest lounge with dining room.
The 1,491-acre park housing the hotel is located at the tip of the San Francisco peninsula, near the Golden Gate Bridge.
