80-suite destination to open in 2014
Rezidor Hotel Group has announced plans to open a Hotel Missoni on the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius. The new luxury lifestyle hotel, which will become the sixth representative of the brand when it opens in 2014, will feature 80 suites.
“Combining Missoni’s iconic design with the local culture influenced by Europe, Africa and Asia, the hotel will be truly unique in Mauritius,” said Kurt Ritter, Rezidor’s president and ceo.
The suites of the new hotel will feature the Missoni fashion house’s signature patterns and fabrics, and will have a large covered outdoor living area, known in Mauritius as a “Varangue.” The resort’s food and beverage outlets will include Hotel Missoni’s signature Cucina restaurant, along with the Choco Café, an all-day dining restaurant, a lounge bar and a beach/pool bar. Leisure facilities will include a spa, outdoor pools and a gym.
Rezidor currently operates two Hotel Missonis—in Edinburgh, Scotland, and Kuwait—and has previously announced plans for future locales in Brazil (opening 2013), Turkey (2014) and Oman (2014).
