EDG updating hotel’s public spaces
The Hilton Austin hotel will soon start a $23 million renovation of its lobby, public areas and meeting space, as well as the launch of two new restaurant concepts, a flexible event venue and the addition of a 3,000-sq.-ft. Starbucks outlet. EDG Interior Architecture + Design has been tapped to oversee the work at the convention hotel, which is slated to begin in May and continue through the end of the year.
Here are some specifics of the work that Novato, California-based EDG is undertaking at the convention hotel:

“When we complete this endeavor, Hilton Austin will reflect the true culture and vibe of our city,” says Robert Watson, the hotel’s general manager. “These additions and improvements will also give us fresh and creative ways to meet the ever-changing needs of our guests and remind them where they are at every turn.”
The public space improvements come on the heels of a $23 million upgrade to the hotel’s 801 guest rooms, suites and executive lounge in 2014, and a $1 million refurbishment of its eighth floor pool deck and bar in spring 2013.
