Malene B, a New York based custom handmade carpet designer, has launched her own company, Malene-b Custom Handmade Carpets along with her new website maleneb.com.
Malene B’s multi-disciplinary background in textile arts, painting and illustration combined with her international travels has inspired the designs for her carpets. With respect to world art, nature and global lifestyles, the designs interpret cultural icons, landscapes and rituals in a personal manner as they stem from her life experiences.
The new company specializes in modern, luxurious, handmade carpets for sophisticated residential, commercial and hospitality environments. Bringing a cultural perspective to each design, Malene B uses a three-dimensional hand sculpturing techniques resulting in varied tactile surfaces.
The company features three different collections of carpets; Signature, Classics, and Textures. Signature celebrates world culture and ceremony, Classics embodies a modern twist on the use of global icons and motifs, and Textures gives a fresh take on nature’s glamor and evolution. These three collections will be exhibited at the Hospitality Design Boutique show September 14-15 at the Miami Convention Center.
