Vassili Group to open restaurants, lounge

Restaurant veteran Santiago Rodriguez will open three upscale venues in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood. Rodriguez, the former director of operations for Nobu Worldwide, founded Vassili Group in May to pursue his dreams of owning and operating a restaurant.

“The idea is that happy hour is continuous and you can spend your entire evening at these three venues,” Rodriguez explains. “I want to create a venue where guests could feel comfortable, almost like they were in their friend’s living room.”

The Hoxton, an “Urban Beach House” serving traditional New England fare, will open later this month in a Hamptons-style setting. That opening will be followed by Boxpark, a restaurant with communal and in-kitchen seating; and Harvey Wolf, a dark and seductive lounge.

All three venues are being designed by Valerie Pasquiou, in collaboration with lighting specialist Ricardo Fernandez. The interior design will be influenced by Rodriguez’s extensive travel and exposure to various cultures, particularly the growth and vitality of Shoreditch, London.
