Mother nature-inspired
Fashion powerhouse, Diesel, and reknowned lighting company Foscarini, have just launched a decorative lamp, Graf, following their collaborative lighting collection, "Successful Living from Diesel with Foscarini," a tongue-in-cheek series which debuted in Diesel’s Home Collection at Fuori Salone 2009 furniture expo.
The two patterns are decidedly different but equally inspired, drawing from both stark, graphic elements and a more feminine flair with mother nature-inspired florals. The first perspective echoes the linear black and white shapes of a DJ’s turntable or a pilot’s cockpit, providing an edgier illumination. The second design is more sensual, highlighting blooms and vines with the translucency of x-ray plates. The on/off pull-switch has its own touch of humour, featuring a pull-string crafted from the symbol for high voltage while the tripod base makes the entire lamp a kind of silent photographer. Available in floor, table or hanging versions, Graf is the ideal combination of Foscarnini’s know-how with Diesel’s sought-after lifestyle–iconic,anti-conformist and creative.
