Good news: Strict budgets and small orders are becoming less of a barrier between designers and a custom look in the spaces they create, thanks to cheaper and faster printing options.

To create made-to-order lighting, for example, you can use the “Design Your Own” program from Pacific Coast Contract Lighting featured on the Lamps Plus web site. Using an online tool, buyers choose from a variety of fixture types and printed shade patterns (including options by textile designers Stacy Garcia and Kathy Ireland), which are then color customized and paired with corresponding wall art.

Another option is to use the latest printing technologies to customize basic materials. Astek Inc., a digital printing firm that’s known for its wall coverings, prints on vinyl, window film, canvas, self-adhesive, fabric, acrylic, wood, metal and even bubble wrap using digital, eco-friendly UV-Print technology. Similarly, linen and bedding company Standard Textile employs a digital-sublimation printing process that uses heat to apply fade-resistant designs to duvet covers, top sheets, pillow shams, bed skirts, bolsters and draperies.

Once again, technological innovation is fueling creativity. Take a minute to consider if custom printing has a place in your next design. The options are virtually endless.

I love to see more companies using technological advancements in software and manufacturing hardware to provide custom options.

Much like these other companies, my company, Artaic uses both unique design software and robotics to create custom tile mosaics.

Like Pacific Coast Contract Lighting, we too are working with Stacy Garcia to create some real interesting custom mosaic designs.

We're finding that it takes really creative designers to use the new tools to continue to push customization to the next level.

I can't wait to see what the future has in store for custom products!

Years after, up to this day, Rolex went along its tradition of bettering roadblocks and coming up with firsts. Rolex watches are not restrained to timekeeping. They are now treated as status symbols and indications of professionalism and excellence.Rolex 115234
