Lauren Rottet, founding principal of Rottet Studio, has been named Designer of the Year in the sixth annual Boutique Design Awards. Rottet, along with the winning projects in the BD competition, were honored at an awards ceremony at the second annual Boutique Design New York  (BDNY). That hospitality interiors fair took place Nov. 13-14 at the Javits Center North in New York.

“Lauren Rottet leads a firm committed to improving the human experience through the built environment, and has put that philosophy to work in such high-profile boutique projects as The Surrey Hotel in New York, the Presidential Bungalows at the Beverly Hills Hotel and the James Royal Palm hotel in Miami Beach,” said Matthew Hall, editor of Boutique Design. “In addition, she recently became the first woman to be named a Fellow by both the American Institute of Architects and the International Interior Design Association. Clearly, she is a worthy recipient of our Designer of the Year designation.”
