Unveils Foster Children Center Renovation
The team at BBG-BBGM put their design knowledge into philanthropic practice to help alleviate the stress that foster children can feel and to offer them a tranquil environment at the Children’s Aid Society in the South Bronx.
With the help of donations from vendors and other financing, BBG-BBGM had enough to renovate three visitation rooms and a conference room. The design team completed the design and construction within just a few days, managing challenges including space limitations, windowless rooms and a limited budget.
“We are thrilled to provide design services that will have long-term positive impact on foster children,” said Amy Jakubowski, a partner at BBG-BBGM. “The project also served to promote collaboration and strengthen our firms’ teamwork philosophy.”
The following companies donated materials or financial resources for the project:
Advantage Sports Flooring, Inc; Artistic Tile, Inc.; Benjamin Moore; BestArt & Mirror; County Draperies; Design Communications; Drapery by LORE; Designtex; DFB Sales Inc.; Evan Shatz Sales Associates; Haig Lighting; Hightower Group; InterfaceFlor; Johnsonite; Kellex Corporation; Knoll Textiles; Koroseal; Liora Manne; Milliken; Myriad Fine Art; Osborne & Little; P Kaufmann; Pavarini McGovern Construction Company; Richard J. Fasenmyer Foundation; Selective Surfaces; The Erwyn Group; Ultrafabrics LLC; Wolf Gordon and 3-FORM.
The Children’s Aid Society will host an open house on December 5 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. to show the redesigned rooms. The organization is located at 1338 Southern Boulevard, Bronx, N.Y., 10459.
