The 2012 Boutique Design Award honorees will be unveiled at the BDNY Kick-Off Party.

The winners of the 2012 Boutique Design Awards have been chosen, thanks in large part to the diligent efforts of three industry professionals: Jeffrey Ornstein, principal of J/Brice Design International in Boston; James Geier, president of 555 International in Chicago; and Yvonne Lembi-Detert, president/ceo of Personality Hotels in San Francisco.
That trio took time out of their busy schedules to pick winners out of the 60-plus entries in four major categories—Best Spa, Best Nightclub, Best Restaurant and Best Hotel—as well as about 10 specialty awards (Best Lobby, Best Outdoor Space, etc.). The editors of Boutique Design also gave their input for the specialty awards, and acted as tiebreakers for the judges’ picks when needed.
At this point, we’re notifying the winning design firms—but aren't telling them specifically what they’re being honored for. That will be revealed at this year’s awards ceremony, which will take place the evening of Nov. 10 at the BDNY Kick-Off Party. In addition to honoring the best cutting-edge design projects, we’ll also introduce the winner of the coveted Designer of the Year honor.
I’ll be introducing the winners at the awards ceremony, and I’m almost positive that when the slide of the first winning project pops onto the big screen at the presentation, it will make the audience gasp (or at least laugh out loud). And that’s just the start of the fun. Hope to see you there.
