Nspire, a Design Competition Created by Northwest Carpets, Announces Winners
Inconjunction with SCAD and NEWH, Northwest will Award Scholarships at HD Expo

n effort to support and inspire design students, Northwest Carpets has partnered with the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) to create Nspire, a new design competition.
According to Northwest, the mission of the competition is to provide an opportunity for young designers to offer a fresh perspective on hospitality styling and learn about the industry's constant demand for new designs, as well as to enhance their design education.
Students from SCAD were invited to create a collection of three coordinated patterns (field, border and outfill). The designs were created for Northwest's new Aureus Design System. The system enables designs to include very fine detail provided by the utilization of the ultra-high twist, pencil-point tip definition of the Alto Chroma solution-dyed nylon.
Adelyn Janulus was selected as the grand prize winner. She will be honored at Northwest's booth (#4736) during HD Expo in Las Vegas on May 14 at 11 a.m. More than $3,000 in scholarships were awarded to the top three winners. In addition, a $500 donation was made to the NEWH scholarship fund on behalf of Northwest Carpets.
Judges of the contest included: Anita Degen, principal, Degen and Degen and the current president of NEWH; Glenn Wilson, senior vice president of interior design, Marriott International; Kay Lang, president, Kay Lang and Associates; and Brian Wilson, director of design and marketing, Aureus Design System.
